Haas funds helped a homeless student, who was abandoned by his mother and living with his 18-year-old unemployed sibling, to pay for classes he otherwise couldn’t afford. The small things sometimes make the biggest differences: the generosity of the Haas Foundation allowed this young man to take the classes he wanted and keep him in school.[This story is included in the first edition of the Haas Foundation’s book: “Journey to Hope” (2008).]
